Apples and Oranges in partnership with Run for A Cure Africa gives female cancer patients free hair services for life

Nigeria’s premier one- stop family salon and spa destination, Apples and Oranges, in partnership with Run For A Cure Africa (RCFA), offers free hair services to female cancer patients at the breast cancer clinic located at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The CEO of Apples and Oranges, Mrs. Beatrice N. Eneh promised free hair services to any woman who has lost her hair as a result of breast cancer. She stated that this partnership would continue for as long as the spa remained in business.

The Founder and Executive Director of RCFA, Dr. Ebele Mbanugo, expressed her excitement for the partnership which she said would alleviate the sufferings of breast cancer patients and erase societal stigmas.

Beatrice N. Eneh, CEO of Apples and Oranges had earlier sponsored the fitting and styling of free wigs given to over 20 women who had lost their hair to cancer at the RCFA’s ‘Beauty through Cancer project on August 31, 2018.

Excited recipients at the RCFA’s session tagged “Beauty through Breast Cancer” project held at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH in Ikeja, Lagos.

The excited recipients of the wigs expressed their sincere gratitude at the kind gesture adding that it would help them reduce societal stigmas.

RFCA is a non-profit founded by Dr. Ebele Mbanugo with a mission to eradicate breast cancer in Africa by providing women access to free breast cancer screenings. The organization which was founded in 2009 has since expanded operations to Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana and the United States of America. In addition to providing free breast cancer screenings for underserved women in Nigeria, RFCA works with federal hospitals to enhance access to quality breast cancer care and provide culturally- sensitive education.

Dr. Mbanugo who is a distinguished educator with close to 2 decades of experience has revealed plans to establish an internationally recognized diagnostic program as part of RCFA’s strategy to fight against the scourge of breast cancer within Africa.

Beatrice N. Eneh, who is an avid supporter and a member of the Steering Committee of RCFA, is an entrepreneur with global experience across multiple industries and a strong passion for empowering others with focus on youths and SMEs. She holds a BSc from University of Uyo (Nigeria), an MBA from Lancaster University Management School (UK) and MEng from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). She is the Co-founder of Aerix Group; a product and services organization catering to sub Saharan Africa’s oil and gas industry. Her work experience is across multiple industries includes the oil and gas industry, with over 10 years’ experience tackling complex logistics and supply chain problems for the ENI Group, Shell Chemicals in Houston Texas & Shell Nigeria.

Her passion for the beauty and hospitality industry led to the birth of the award-winning Apples and Oranges Total Body Therapy, in 2012 and the Eko spa at the Eko Hotel and Suites in 2015. She is also the Founder of Nigeria’s Largest Professional Product trading company- Nectar Beauty Hub and Nectar Beauty Academy.
