Frequently Asked Questions

Spa Etiquette and Policies.

Booking spa appointments?

Peak hours are often late afternoons and weekends (especially Saturdays), so book as far in advance as possible in order to ensure getting the particular time, day and therapist you want. It’s easiest to accommodate you during off-peak hours, which are often in the mornings and midweek.

When to arrive?

If you are receiving skincare, body treatment, or a massage please arrive early to ensure your services run as smoothly as possible. This will help ensure enough time to change into the provided spa attire and receive a relaxing foot soak.

As much as we would like, we cannot guarantee service for late arrivals. In most cases,we will have to reschedule you or possibly abbreviate the intended services.

What to wear during treatment?

A robe, slippers, and a secure locker are provided upon your arrival. You will be properly draped during your services and most guests prefer to fully disrobe. You may leave on any of your undergarments, however, if you are uncomfortable. Please feel free to ask any questions of our therapists or our reception staff. A private shower is available for your use before or after your massage. The shower room is adjacent to the locker room. If you wish to shower before your appointment, please arrive early and let us know .

Modesty issues?

It is never required that you are unclothed infront of anyone at our spa. Towels and robes are provided and can keep you continually covered. Therapists are well trained in the “the art of draping”. They leave the treatment room while you get under the sheet of the massage table, and they keep you covered at all times except for the area of your body being massaged. They also leave the treatment room before you get up from the table.

Pregnancy or Medical conditions?

Be sure to mention any medical information when you book an appointment. Certain treatments may not be advisable for you. Also before any treatment begins, let your therapists or esthetician know of any medical concerns. Tell the technician if you are wearing contact lens before you have a facial.

If possible, leave your jewelry at home as you will not need it for your day spa visit. If, however, you bring valuables, make certain that they are securely locked in your locker. If you choose instead to take them with you to your treatment, be mindful of not leaving them behind.

Eating and Drinking?

Try not to eat a heavy meal within one hour prior to a treatment, and avoid the consumption of alcohol on the day of a treatment. Drink plenty of water before and afterward.

Because the spa environment is supposed to be a tranquil and stress-reducing experience, it is best to have cellphones and pagers turned off before entering the day spa.

Communicating your preferences?

Some aspects of your treatment can be modified to your taste; whether or not you choose to have a conversation or enjoy the treatment in silence. If you want the therapist to go deeper or be gentler, let them know. Also, feel free to ask questions. Our therapists will appreciate knowing your thoughts and clarifying any issues you may have. If any part of your experience is unsatisfactory, first tell the therapist. If the response is not helpful, ask to speak to a supervisor.

Sun and Spa?

Try to avoid sun on the day of treatment and in some cases, the day after. And always wear sun protection! In Apples and Oranges, we accept Verve, Visa and MasterCard.

Gratuity is not included in the price of services . If you are satisfied with your service, a 15% to 20% tip is customary. Gratuity boxes are available at the different sections of the salon and spa.

We ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment. In the event that a scheduled service provider is unable to work, Apples and Oranges Total Body Therapy will do everything possible to accommodate your wishes. This could result in rescheduling the appointment to another date/time or rescheduling you with another service provider. In all cases, we want to ensure that your desires are met!
